Piedmont members in Local 13301 are getting motivated to lead, participating in steward training, and mobilizing for political action as never before. We need every single member to become involved with positive thoughts and actions.
As of January 1, 2019, new protections from assault went into effect for passenger service agents across the country. Since January, we have been meeting with American Airlines to determine exactly how we will implement tools and policies to make the assault protections a reality at all our airports.
On January 4-7, 2019, CWA Local 3645 hosted over 50 shop stewards from 22 stations in District 3 at its third annual Steward Leadership Conference in Charlotte, NC. The training was designed to help stewards clearly understand the details of the new Piedmont contract.
The CWA bargaining team met with the Piedmont bargaining team on March 7, 8, and 9, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. We saw significant progress and movement on a number of our proposals.
The Local 3645 team recently visited Louisville (SDF), Greenville-Spartanburg (GSP), and Wilmington (ILM). At SDF they were able to help negotiate the return of a terminated agent.
One of our big goals is to get our agents to see the stewards as real resources—as contacts to empower them. And it’s great because we have more and more stewards signing up every day.

Bargaining committees representing the Union and the Company met on February 14, 15, and 16, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The meeting began with the Company's presentation of a counter proposal to the Union's November 10th proposal on Article 6, Hours of Service.

Justice Department confirmed that passenger service agents are, in fact, covered by legislation adopted in 2002 that set significant penalties and jail time for anyone who "interferes with airport and airline personnel who have security duties."
